We had the opportunity to go on a city tour with Uncle Dave in 2004 when he was working for one of the most popular tour companies in New Orleans.
His presentation and vast knowledge of the city and its history was extremely impressive and quite enjoyable. When we decided to return to the city last year we contacted Uncle Dave to find out which dates he might be working so we could make sure and have him as our guide once again. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that he was now doing private tours and we immediately made plans to go on one with him. This was definitely the highlight of our visit to this wonderful city. He made arrangnments for us to go on the best swamp tour in the area, personally taking us to the location, then waited for us to return, after which he took us on an extensive tour of the city. It was a wonderfully enjoyable, informative, and relaxing experience! We had plenty of time to really look at what Uncle Dave was showing us, to really listen to him as told us many interesting facts and stories, and to allow us to ask many questions and learn even more. We came away feeling like we just received a wonderful history lesson……which we did (after all, Uncle Dave has been a history teacher!)!!! We even had a fantastic lunch at a great local seafood restaurant that Uncle Dave picked out!

We could not imagine coming back to New Orleans without having Uncle Dave show us the sites! Because not only is he THE BEST tour guide, he is also now a very good friend!
